WFC2 midfielder Brett Levis marked his return from injury with a brilliant two-goal performance in the Thundercaps' 3-2 loss to the Austin Aztex this past Sunday afternoon. Levis' first goal was a stunning golazo from 30 yards, and his second was a sublime piece of skill in which he beat a defender and the Aztex goalkeeper to record his brace. Congrats, Brett!
A classy move by David Ousted,as he is one of a few MLS players to appear in a new video from the league, and their Campaign to raise awareness about Childhood Cancer. Good on Ousted for contributing to a very worthwhile cause.

Make it three wins in four matches for the in-form Vancouver Whitecaps FC2. Last Friday night the Thundercaps went into halftime down a goal to the Portland Timbers FC2, but drew level with their rivals just two minutes into the second half thanks to midfielder Tyler Rosenlund. Rosenlund's goal and leadership on the pitch was instrumental in spurring his team on to an 2-1 victory over Portland. The victory also moved WFC2 back into contention for a playoff berth in the USL Western Conference. WFC2 play again on Wednesday evening when they face the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 7pm at UBC's Thunderbird Stadium. Congrats, Tyler!
WFC2 forward Victor Blasco has been named USL Player of the Week and selected for Team of the Week for his stunning brace that sealed a memorable victory for the Caps over the Seattle Sounders FC2 this past Saturday afternoon. In addition defender Christian Dean, who opened the scoring for WFC2 in the forty-first minute, was named to the Team of the Week bench. Blasco, who came into the match with less than fifteen minutes to play, combined twice with striker Billy Schuler in the final minute of the game to break a one-all deadlock, and send the Sounders back to Middle Cascadia without any points. The goals scored by both Blasco and Dean were their first goals for the Whitecaps. Congratulations Victor and Christian!
The US Soccer Federation has just announced a 6-match or two year ban (whichever is greater) for Seattle's Clint Dempsey. Add that to the fine and three match ban already handed to him by MLS commish Don Garber last week it seems the punishment for Dempsey's actions during the USOC match last week finally fit his crime.
