Best Vancouver Whitecaps Goal: Elite 8 - Part 1

We are now in the ELITE 8! The final 8 goals competing for Best Vancouver Whitecaps Goal (in the Major League Soccer era). We have 8 great goals, ranging from 2011 to 2019! Should be a good finish. Here is Part 1

We are down to the final eight goals battling it out to be crowned champion. While some might (and have) argued about Hassli’s TFC goal being out in the first round, I think none of us are too surprised by the final eight goals here. I have my beliefs as to who will come out on top, but I am curious to see if I will be wrong.

To get to this point, Blas Perez narrowly edged out Alphonso Davies 35-30, Ali Adnan handily defeated Pedro Morales 53-10, Davies beat Erik Hurtado 50-13, while Davide Chiumiento got past Kei Kamara 52-10. Quite a lot of blow-outs. Seems like fans are confident about who should beat who in each pairing.

With the pairings set for the Elite 8, let’s look at the left-hand side of the bracket today.

Pairing #25

Blas Perez (May 11th, 2016) vs Chicago Fire

Those are the first two pairings in our Elite 8. Make sure to vote before 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 8th. We will have the final two pairings on Wednesday, with voting open until 9:00 am on Saturday, April 11th.

With this competition coming to a close we have two questions for you. First, do we have a FINAL FOUR final poll, or do we have two semi-finals and a final? Second, what competition do we have next? I was thinking Best Player? Maybe Best Moment? If you have some suggestions, and want to make some nominations, let us know in the comments.
