This is it! We have reached the finale of our little competition. We started with 32 goals and are now down to four. I think we have a great final four, even if a few goals I would like to see didn’t make it. I must say, I was a bit surprised that Ali Adnan beat Blas Perez in the Elite 8. I had penciled in Perez for the finals. We had a bit of a discussion about that and Ali Adnan’s build-up beat out Perez’s moment of brilliance. No surprise, as this is how the contest has been going throughout, but Perez/Adnan was the only close contest, with the other three ending in blowouts.
On to the fun (for me) statistics part of our introduction. I have been keeping track of the margin of victory for our various combatants. Prior to the Elite 8, Davide was in second, having won his first two matchups by a combined 92 votes. Of course, losing by 53 to Davies sort of knocked him out. But, of our final four goal scorers, here is their margin of victory: Adnan: 100, Davies: 116, Camilo: 164, Hassli 117. Looks like Camilo has been the most dominant, but will he beat out Hassli, who has seems to be the favourite to win this contest. Let’s get to the final matchup!

Those are your final four. good mix of the recent and the old. You will have until Sunday at 9:00 am to pick your winner. As I mentioned in the Elite 8, what competition do we have next? I was thinking Best Player? Maybe Best Moment? If you have some suggestions, and want to make some nominations, let us know in the comments.
