A little over a week ago, Marc Dos Santos confirmed that the Vancouver Whitecaps were putting the final touches on paperwork for two centre backs. Those two rumoured centre backs were Tunisian Jasser Khmiri and Argentine Erik Godoy. Last Friday Khmiri was confirmed while this Friday Godoy was confirmed.
#Colón || Erik Godoy seguirá su carrera en el Vancouver Whitecaps de la #MLS . En principio sería un préstamo con opción de compra aunque la dirigencia sabalera busca cerrar una venta. pic.twitter.com/7yvGr5Qx9n

25-year-old Godoy joins the Whitecaps on a one-year loan, with an option to buy, from Club Atletico Colon in Argentina. Godoy will occupy an international roster spot and was acquired using Targeted Allocation Money. Godoy has eight years of professional experience in Argentina’s Superliga, with more than 140 starts, at three clubs, and eight starts in the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores.
At just 25, Godoy is entering his prime and could be a great addition for the Whitecaps.
Most impressive stat I've seen out of Erik Godoy is his ability to maintain his aggressive play but staying disciplined. Over 8300 minutes played in the Primera División with only 1 red card, 23 yellow cards, and 0 yellow card accumulations. Hopefully this tweet ages well. #VWFC

Erik Godoy is 25, but the Argentine league is tough, aggressive, fast and technical. Sounds like the perfect beeeding ground for an MDS player
