In this second match of the week the Caps have travelled some thirty-five hundred kilometers to Frisco Texas to pay a visit to FC Dallas, match starts at 1pm PST.
The Whitecaps will look to build on the positives from their last two home matches, both two goal draws, against weaker Western Conference opponents. The positives; we finally saw some nice link-up play in the midfield, Yordy Reyna tallied his first of the campaign, and Felipe really tuned in his range-finder from the dead ball.
Despite the ties, the team deficiencies have been frustrating. The Caps seem to switch off at inopportune moments and have given the ball away easily in midfield too often resulting in chances and goals against. In home matches this behavior is unacceptable, particularly when facing weaker opponents. The offense also desperately needs to find the killer instinct in the offensive third. In their two home matches the Caps managed an astounding thirty-nine attempts on net. Fifteen of which made it on frame, which netted them four goals. The Caps need to improve in these areas in order to come away with three points in Dallas.
FC Dallas sit third in the West (just one point above the Whitecaps) with sixteen points (4-1-4) in nine matches in 2018. Dallas have not lost a match yet this season at Toyota Stadium going 3-0-3 and are coming off of a home match in which they beat LA Galaxy 3-2. FC Dallas won on goals from Maxi Urruti and Roland Lamah (2). All three goals were assisted by Mauro Diaz.

The Caps ran away with a 4 nil victory. The match was the Caps largest ever margin of victory in an away match as well as their largest goal total all of last season. They had goals from Bernie Ibini, Fredy Montero, Yordy Reyna and Nico Mezquida.
Only Reto Zeigler (suspension) and Kris Reaves (sports hernia) are expected to miss the match for FC Dallas.
