Vancouver Whitecaps (6-6-3) vs Chicago Fire (10-3-4)

On paper, this looks like a mis-match and one of those games that people tune in to see particular player. Yes, non other than former Bayern and Manchester United midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger. Coach Veljko Paunovic has this team firing on all cylinders in MLS play. The club returns to league play after a midweek slipup to FC Cincinnati in US Open Cup player;
Which leads us into who won’t be in the lineup for both sides:
CHI - David Accam (Ghana), Dax McCarty (USA)
VAN - Sam Adekugbe, Marcel deJong, Alphonso Davies and Russell Teibert all representing Canada.
As for the walking wounded, they did get some good news on Friday that defender Sheanon Williams has been cleared to return to team activities by MLS. There are almost enough injured Caps to field an injured 11. Off-season signee Yordy Reyna is expected to make his season debut seeing no more than 10-20 minutes as he returns from injury.
Perhaps the biggest x-factor in this game: Chicago was taken to penalties by FC Cincinnati in US Open Cup play on Wednesday. Can an aging Schweinsteiger go another 90 minutes after playing 120minutes:
Can the Caps play an uptempo game long enough to tire out the Fire?
Stay tunes
