Much has been made about the Vancouver Whitecaps and their inability to sign a DP striker as we progress towards the season. If Alphonso Davies and Kekuta Manneh continue to play like they did on Thursday, it might not be a problem.

Manneh had three assists and Davies scored twice as the Whitecaps finished up their UK, pre-season adventure with a 4-0 victory over the Bristol City FC U23 squad. Head Coach Carl Robinson went for the same starting lineup for the third straight match, including David Ousted in net, Tim Parker and Christian Dean partnering at Center Back, and Jacob Nerwinski and Jordan Harvey taking the wings. Andrew Jacobson and Matias Laba paired in the defensive midfield, and the attack saw Davies, Manneh, Marcel De Jong and Erik Hurtado.

Jordan Harvey got the party started in the 10th minute, taking a ball from De Jong and firing it into the top left corner for the 1-0 lead. Two minutes later, Kekuta Manneh placed a through-ball for Alphonso Davies deep in the Bristol end, and the youngster was able to fire it home to double the lead.

About five minutes later, Davies and Manneh were at it again. Manneh used some fancy footwork to flick the ball to Davies, who was running down the left side. Davies took his time moving up the pitch, before the blasting the ball home for the 3-0 lead.

The Whitecaps finished up the scoring in the 63rd minute, when some hard-work from Cristian Techera paid off. Techera chased down a Bristol defender at the touch-line before he played the ball in front to Nicolas Mezquida, who was able to tap it home for the easy goal.
