During the relatively short MLS off-season, there’s one date that every supporter waits for: Schedule Release Day. That day just happened to be today. Now, the mad scramble is on to pick which away days to attend and book the appropriate time off to do so. Everyone loves to see their team play in a cool location, whether it’s a local derby or somewhere new (Minnesota or Atlanta).
We already knew the first kick dates and opponents for our teams. Now, we know the rest of the schedule.
The Caps MLS home schedule breaks down as:
10 Saturday
3 Sunday
3 Wednesday
1 Friday
Key dates:
Mar 5 - First Kick vs Philadelphia
Apr 14 (Good Friday)- Cascadia opener vs Seattle at home
Apr 22 - First of two trips to Portland
June 3 - Atlanta makes their first visit
June 24 - Caps visit Minnesota
July 23 - Portland’s only trip to Vancouver
Aug 23 - Seattle’s other visit
July 7-17 - Gold Cup break
Sept 13 - Caps host Minnesota for the first time
Sept 27 - Caps only trip to Seattle
Oct 22 (Decision Day) - Cascadia closer in Portland
All of this in addition to the Scotiabank CCL QF against Red Bull New York on Feb 22 and Mar 1. Should they be able to conquer their fellow MLS foe, it’ll be a Mexican matchup meaning more mid-week matches.
