The busy summer schedule continues for the Vancouver Whitecaps, as they take on Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago in CONCACAF Champions League play. This will be the Whitecaps opening match of the 2016-17 Champions league season, with Vancouver looking to win their way into the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Schedule
The Whitecaps are in Group C, along with Central and fellow MLS club Sporting Kansas City. After Tuesday's match, the Whitecaps will welcome Sporting Kansas City to BC Place on August 23rd, then will travel to Children's Mercy Park for a re-match on September 13th. The Whitecaps will then welcome Central to Vancouver on September 28th.
Admittedly, not a lot is known of the Whitecaps next opponent. An article from TSN details that nicely.
First kick is at 5 pm tomorrow. There's no word of a broadcast schedule on the Whitecaps site, however, the MLSSoccer.com preview says the match can be seen on Univision.
