The Vancouver Whitecaps have come to terms with backup goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi to a one year deal, with an option for 2017.
The 27 year old Italian hasn't gotten a ton of playing time behind Whitecaps stud David Ousted during the 2+ seasons he's been here (He has yet to start a regular season match for Vancouver), but club management obviously like what he brings to the table. In the official media release, Head Coach Carl Robinson indicated Tornaghi was a popular dude in the locker room.
"The boys absolutely love him to bits and we're confident in his abilities as a goalkeeper. He trains hard, has the right attitude, and is a role model for the younger goalkeepers in our club. We're happy to have him back."
Tornaghi spent two seasons with the Chicago Fire before joining the Whitecaps.
