Blas Perez Joins Vancouver Whitecaps Camp

Love him or hate him, he's likely going to be a Whitecap

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Noted super-pest Blas Perez is in the Whitecaps camp, the club has confirmed, and a deal is currently being worked out with FC Dallas that would see the 34 year old officially sign with Vancouver.

You can read more on Perez here.

The Whitecaps announced the news in a media release on their website, also revealing Mauro Rosales could be involved in the deal. A veteran forward for a veteran forward, although I would argue Rosales has a much better reputation in the league. That being said, it's two players that appear to be on the decline, and could benefit from a change of scenery.

Here's a quote from Carl Robinson, via that news release.

Blas is a proven goal-scorer," head coach Carl Robinson said. "Everywhere he plays, he scores goals, competes, and has a natural hunger to win. We are working on a deal with Dallas, as well as Blas, but felt it was important to have him here in Tucson, training with the guys, as soon as possible."

The club also confirmed Christian Bolanos has met up with the team in Tucson. Bolanos signed with the Whitecaps two weeks ago and will participate in an afternoon on-field session today, although he will not play in the pre-season match against the Sounders.
