WFC 2 Top Trinity Western University 5-0 in Pre-Season

The Whitecaps USL affiliate are now 2-0 in pre-season

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 earned their second win of the post-season in a lop-sided, 5-0 win against Trinity Western University on Thursday. While the USL team had gone with a hybrid lineup that included some MLS players in the first match of the pre-season, this lineup was wholly comprised of guys who will fight for time on WFC2 this season, and the club didn't miss a beat.

In the 10th minute, Whitecaps SuperDraft pick Christopher Hellmann finished a cross from Jordan Haynes to put WFC2 up by one. The lead would double a little over ten minutes later, with striker Daniel Haber scoring on a penalty that was drawn by Victor Blasco. Not long after, Giuliano Frano finished a low cross to make it 3-0, and Hellman put the exclamation mark on the half with his second of the match.

In the second half, Trinity didn't fare much better, scoring an own goal to make it 5-0.

WFC2 return to action on February 28th, against the University of Washington.
