Rumor: Carl Robinson to Swansea

Another rumor to fill your off-season

MLS: Vancouver Whitecaps FC at San Jose Earthquakes John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

A report from The Sun in the UK, is linking Vancouver Whitecaps FC bench boss Carl Robinson to Swansea City AFC. The team is currently managed by former MLS skipper Bob Bradley.

From the report:

The struggling Swans are looking to replace American Bob Bradley, who has had a poor start to his reign. Former Wales midfielder Robinson, 40, has been learning his trade in Canada with the Vancouver Whitecaps and could be interested in a job back home.

Swansea also considered ex-England boss Sam Allardyce for an emergency call but that is an expensive option and his style may not suit their players. They also sounded out Frank de Boer after his poor spell with Inter Milan but sources say he is not interested just now.

The portion of the report that talks about Robinson is near the bottom of the page.

Who knows if this has any truth to it, but it certainly is an entertaining rumor.
