Now that the expansion draft has come and gone let the signings begin.

The Vancouver Whitecaps have traded general allocation money to the Houston Dynamo for 26 year old, right back Sheanon Williams. The team has gone with proven experience in Williams who has played in 179 regular season and playoff games over seven seasons. Williams came into the league with the Philadelphia Union, where he became the third all time player in games played with 143 in 5 seasons. He was then acquired by Houston half way through the the 2015 season. Williams is certainly an established MLS player. Last season he saw the pitch 24 times for the Dynamo in all competitions. From Boston, he is a domestic player in the prime of his career.

According to Carl Robinson:

The Whitecaps have their RB. At least one of them anyway and they decided to pull a 180 and go with experience this year rather than the youth experiment that blew up in their face last year. Both Fraser Aird and Jordan Smith, who shared the RB responsibilities in 2016 have not had their options exercised. We can expect another RB to join the team.
