Guess the Starting XI and Final Score Contest - Final Standings

In the first year of our "Guess the Starting XI and Final Score" contest, our second half and overall winner was AtlantisB. Check out all the stats from the entire season for all participants.

It was the inaugural season of our contest to Guess the Starting XI and Final Score of each Vancouver Whitecaps Major League Soccer match. I would argue that it was a successful first season with plenty of people participating. The goal for next season will be to get more people participating throughout the entire season, as some were regular predictors in the first half or the second half.

This season we ended up with four different standings. Arjon was the winner of the 1st Half contest (first 17 MLS matches) and Non-MLS contest (Canadian Championship and CONCACAF), while AtlantisB was the winner of the 2nd Half contest (last 17 MLS matches) and Overall contest (top 30 overall match scores from 34 MLS matches). It seems that predictions improved in the second half, or maybe the Whitecaps just became more predictable, as second half scores were much higher.

Below are two tables. The first table is the 2nd Half contest final standings, with the final match details included. The second table are the overall final standings, with some additional statistics for each participant. For people to compare their first half predictions to the second half, I have included the 1st Half contest stats. You will also see your 'average score' for each week you participated, 'average lineup' for average correctly predicted starters, 'Correct Winner' predictions, and 'Correct Score' predictions.

I do plan to run this contest again next season. I look forward to all of you participating. While I feel that the contest ran well, I am also looking for any suggestions to make the contest more enjoyable, so if you have any additional categories that you feel should be included or if scoring should be tweaked, please let me know in the comments below.
