First reported by the U.K. Sun, and then the Vancouver Province, there is apparently some interest in Whitecaps striker Giles Barnes. According to the report, Barnes is drawing interest from Blackburn, where his former Houston Dynamo coach, Owen Coyle, is currently employed.
From the article:
Coyle tried and failed to take the former Derby forward from the MLS at the start of the season when he moved to Vancouver from Houston. But now Barnes is looking to return to England and Coyle hopes to agree a deal to sign him in time for the January window opening.
Barnes, who was underwhelming in his tenure in Vancouver, except for the Regular Season finale, currently makes around $750,000. You would have to think, given Carl Robinson’s promise to find new talent, that Barnes will be moving on shortly.
