Pa Modou Kah Named MLS Player of the Week

The most unlikeliest of candidates has snagged the honor

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver Whitecaps Center Back Pa Modou Kah has been named the MLS Player of the Week, after his two goal outburst versus the Seattle Sounders over the weekend.

Kah's pair of goals were his first as a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps, something also landed him a spot on the MLS Team of the Week.

Kah is the first Whitecaps FC player to earn Player of the Week honours this season and the first defender since Real Salt Lake center back Chris Schuler received the honour back on August 11, 2014. Earlier this year, Whitecaps FC keeper David Ousted was named the Player of the Month for June and striker Octavio Rivero took home the award in March.

Congratulations to Pa, and to the entire Whitecaps team. Let's hope they can keep the momentum going when they face the Sounders again this week.
