Whitecaps striker Kekuta Manneh was named to the MLS Team of the Week today, for his two goal performance against Sporting Kansas City on the weekend. It's perhaps the lone bright spot in an otherwise putrid outing that saw the Whitecaps allow three straight, late goals en route to a 4-3 loss.
Still, Manneh had an outstanding match, and is fully deserving of the honor.
M: Kekuta Manneh (Vancouver Whitecaps) - He was a menace to SKC all night, picking off errant passes and starting attacks from the left side. He scored twice and nearly had a hat trick in the Whitecaps' loss in Kansas City.
According to Whitecaps FC.com, this is the fourth straight week a Whitecaps player has made the Team of the Week.
Manneh wasn't the only one being recognized, as Pedro Morales landed a nomination for Goal of the Week. His 30 yard free kick is up against Nat Borchers of Portland, Obafemi Martins of the Sounders, NYFC's David Villa, and SKC's Paulo Nagamura.
