David Ousted Named Player of the Month

Was the ever any doubt?

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Getting sick of hearing about this guy, yet? Whitecaps Goalkeeper David Ousted was recognized for his otherworldy play during the month of June, as the folks over at MLSSoccer.com have voted him the Player of the Month.

It's just another mention for Ousted, who's also landed back to back 'Team of the Week' appearances. Ousted beat out some pretty good players for the award, and the vote wasn't really close.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper collected 37.9 per cent of the vote, beating out Toronto FC midfielder Sebastian Giovinco (20.4%), Philadelphia Union striker C.J. Sapong (15.6%), Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi (14.1%), and San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Matias Perez Garcia (11.8%) in a fan vote on MLSsoccer.com.

He joins Octavio Rivero as Whitecap winners of the award, as Rivero landed the honor back in March.

I think many of us would have been pretty bitter had Ousted not won the award, so let's be happy now that he has. Congrats David! The Whitecaps need you to continue to kick ass week in and week out.
