Whitecaps Nominees for MLS All-Star Game Announced

Names like David Ousted, Matias Laba and Pedro Morales make up the Vancouver ticket

Eight members of the Vancouver Whitecaps are among 160 MLS players that have made the ballot for the 2015 MLS All-Star game.

The Whitecaps that could potentially be making their way to the contest include Octavio Rivero, Kekuta Manneh, Darren Mattocks, Pedro Morales, Matias Laba, Steven Beitashour, Kendall Waston, and David Ousted.

Voting on runs from July 3rd to the 12th, and fans can do that on social media or online.

According to the MLSSoccer press release, you can also use your video game system to get a player to the match.

The 11th player - a forward - will be determined by the AT&T/EA SPORTSTM "More Than a Vote" Challenge. Fans have the opportunity to vote one forward into the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game by scoring goals in EA SPORTS FIFA 15 on the Xbox One, PlayStation®4, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The forward with the most votes - one goal equals one vote - on July 3 will occupy the final forward spot on the All-Star Fan XI.

Who do you think is the most deserving Whitecap? I think the most obvious example has to be Goalkeeper David Ousted, who has been sublime so far this MLS campaign. Matias Laba and his continual dominance at the DM position can't be ignored, and Octavio Rivero has made a pretty good case for himself with six goals scored.

The last Whitecaps named to the All-Star match were Camilo in 2013, and Jay Demerit the year before that.
