A picture perfect win for the Whitecaps USL Pro affiliate, WFC2, went down at Thunderbird Stadium on Sunday. The Whitecaps received goals from a pair of Canadians en route to their first regular season home win, 2-1 over the Real Monarchs SLC.

Richmond native Caleb Clarke and Vancouver's Ben McKendry tallied for the club, who now sit at 2W-4L-3D on the season. They still sit near the bottom of the standings of the Western Conference, but the match will hopefully serve as a confidence builder moving forward for the youngsters. The club can't get too excited though; The Monarchs are having a pretty rough campaign so far, with just 1 win on the season.

Still, a win is a win, and this one very much had a Canuck flavor; Head Coach Alan Koch fielded 7 Canadians in the starting lineup, and used 10 overall.

A tougher test will come next week, when WFC2 battle Arizona United SC, a team currently 7 spots ahead of them in the Western Conference, and currently situated in a playoff spot.
