AUSTIN, TX - After Sunday's loss to Seattle Sounders FC2, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC2 bounced back to deliver a solid road performance, which earned them not only their first win of the season, but also the first win in WFC2 team history.

The Austin Aztex found themselves behind early on when WFC residency grad Caleb Clarke scored his first goal of the season, and the first goal in WFC2 history in just the 12th minute.  Tyler Rosenlund released Clarke on a breakaway by virtue of a long pass, and the Vancouver striker calmly side-footed a shot past Aztex goalkeeper Devin Perales.

WFC2 were finally able to extend their lead in the 77th minute when Perales was unable to hold onto Craig Nitti's thundering freekick from about 25-yards out.

Vancouver tallied a final goal just moments before fulltime when Ethan Sampson and Billy Schuler, who was making his debut for WFC2, exchanged a series of passes.  Schuler was then able to beat the unfortunate Perales to seal a 3-0 win for the visitors.

In addition to a first goal and first victory for WFC2, a number of players were making their professional and club debuts.  Making their professional debuts were fullback Jordan Haynes, centreback Craig Nitti and goalkeeper Spencer Richey, while winger Sahil Sandhu was given his first professional start.

After two matches in four days WFC2 will now enjoy week of rest before they play the Orange County Blues in Irvine, CA on April 12th at 4pm PT.
