Don't Throw Beer on the Pitch, You Idiot

Perhaps the most disappointing thing to come out of Saturday's loss was the classless behavior of a few Whitecap 'fans', who threw beer at Jozy Altidore

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

You can call me a stick in the mud, you can say that I'm not fun, but as a Whitecaps supporter, I could not be more embarrassed by the behavior of a few Whitecaps 'fans', who decided to make complete asses out of themselves by throwing beer at Jozy Altidore after he sealed the match with a second half penalty.

I'm not going to spend too long on this because it truly was a select few fans, and also because 86forever regular Chris Corrigan has summed it up better than I ever could:

Southsiders are livid with the pricks that threw beers on the pitch.

There is no question that Altidore is a First Class **** but chucking stuff on the pitch is utter nonsense, and reflects badly on all of us.

So, if you are reading this with the idea that, yes you too, could get famous from throwing beer at assholes, do it in another part of the stadium, and preferably in another sporting venue. Because those wankers got shot out of the Southside faster than you can say "Let me have that season's ticket, son."

So, let's keep it really, really simple. When you go into BC Place as a Whitecaps fan, you represent not only the entire team, but for better or worse, the entire fan base. Don't abuse that privilege, and act like a goddamn adult the next time the Whitecaps lose a game at home. Still, we have easily the best fan base in Vancouver, and I don't expect this crap is going to happen again.
