The worst kept secret when it comes to jerseys has been revealed. The Vancouver Whitecaps have announced their new primary kit for the 2015 MLS season. The new jersey comes to no surprise to Vancouver supporters because this version of the kit was leaked online back in January.
The jury is still out about how well received this new kit will be. A couple of weeks ago I posted this article comparing what was at the time the rumoured new uniform and a fan generated version. Based on your comments, it seems that the non-official version was better liked.
Having said that, the more I look at the new Caps' skin the more it grows on me. According to the club, "The new 2015 primary kit includes sky blue reflections, based off of the iconic peaks from the club's logo that symbolize the water and mountains that represent Vancouver. The jersey has a 3D lenticular crest, as well as the new MLS crest on the sleeves." One the features that I liked the most is how the incorporated the club's mantra "Our All. Our Honour" in the hip and the neck tape. The Whitecaps have explained some of its main features in the below graphic.
Perhaps more importantly, the Whitecaps have also announced that there will be a Season Launch Party exclusive to Season Ticket Holders on March 2nd at the Commodore Ballroom in downtown Vancouver. I had the opportunity to attend last year's festivities which served at the time as the blue jersey launch event and it was a great opportunity to rub elbows with other supporters, chat with some of the players and, more importantly, to build some excitement ahead of First Kick.
So now that the jersey has been confirmed, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like it? Will you buy it? Let us know in the comment section.
