Report: Armando Cooper to the Whitecaps

According to rpctv, com, the 28 year old is heading to the Whitecaps on a free transfer

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

According to RPCTV.com, the Vancouver Whitecaps have acquired Panamanian midfielder Armando Cooper from Arabe Unido of Liga Panameña de Fútbol on a free transfer. The report is not in english, so have google translate ready.

Cooper joined Arabe Unido in September after limited playing time in Germany with FC St. Pauli. He's also represented Panama on the national stage, his most recent goal occurring on November 13th against Jamaica.

I don't know much about Cooper, but I do know if the rumor is true, it means a big question mark for the Whitecaps midfield. With Cristian Techera, Gershon Koffie, Pedro Morales, Nicolas Mezquida, Matias Laba, Russell Teibert and a few youngsters in the mix as well, the position is very crowded. If the move is true, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see some player movement there.
