Trio of Whitecaps Called Up to Canadian Men's National Team

Sam Adekugbe, Kianz Froese and Marco Bustos have gotten the nod

Three young Whitecaps are heading to the Canadian Men's National Team for an International friendly against Ghana on October 13th. Sam Adekugbe, Marco Bustos and Kianz Froese-all Whitecaps Residency graduates- have gotten the call from team Head Coach Benito Floro. The match is going in Washington, DC.

According to the official news release, the match will be a good chance for the youngsters to show Floro what they can bring to the table.

The fixture against the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finalists will be a chance for head coach Benito Floro's side to prepare for the fourth round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying where they will meet Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador in Group A. Canada opens the third round of qualifying in Vancouver on Friday, November 13 against Honduras at BC Place.

The 19 year old Froese is being called up for the third time, while the 20 year old Adekugbe made his Canadian debut on September 8th. This is the first call up for the 19 year old Bustos.

The trio will leave after this weekends match against the Earthquake .
