Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver Whitecaps announced this morning that an MRI has revealed the injury suffered by Jay DeMerit during last Saturday's match against the Philadelphia Union to be a tendon tear in his left ankle.
DeMerit has elected not to have surgery and will therefore be sidelined for up to six weeks while he rehabilitates and recovers. This latest setback is not a recurrence of the injury the centerback suffered to his Achilles tendon in the opening match of the 2013 season against Toronto FC.
On behalf of us all here at Eighty Six Forever, we wish Jay a quick recovery. Rise and Shine!
