As the Vancouver Whitecaps prepare mark the club's 40th anniversary this weekend the club announced the first four inductees into the newly launched Ring of Honour.
Bob Lenarduzzi, Carl Valentine, Dominic Mobilio and Andrea Neil, who represent the Whitecaps' core values of unity, winning and honour, were chosen with input by a selection of the club's alumni and will be individually honoured as part of the ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations.
Lenarduzzi and Valentine, who are both still involved with the Whitecaps today, were both members of the 1979 Whitecaps team that won the NASL Soccer Bowl. The late (and great) Mobilio is the all-time leading goal scorer in the Canadian Soccer League and was a key member of the Vancouver 86ers teams that won four consecutive CSL championships from 1988-91. Finally, Neil captained her team to USL W-League championships in 2004 and 2006 and represented Canada in four Women's World Cups.
On behalf of the entire team here at Eighty Six Forever we would like to thank the honourees for their contributions to both club and country and congratulate them for their induction into the Ring of Honour.
