According to our friends over at Stumptown Footy, The Vancouver Whitecaps will be in action in late February as one of four teams in the 4th annual 'Simple Invitational', which had previously been called the 'Rose City Invitational.
Stabek is currently managed by Bob Bradley, the man who is believed to have spurned the Whitecaps bid for his services as head coach last off-season.
According to the tweet, the tourney is going down from February 22nd to the 28th.
Timbers preseason tournament will be held Feb. 22-28 and include the Timbers, Vancouver, Chicago Fire, and Bob Bradley's Stabaek. #rctid— Chris Rifer (@ChrisRifer) December 15, 2014
The Whitecaps took part in the last tourney, going undefeated against Jamaican side Portmore, the Timbers and the San Jose Earthquake, who are absent from the tourney for the first time.
It will certainly be interesting to see what changes the Whitecaps have made in that time, and if the Whitecaps can spoil the party for the hosts once again.
The club has officially announced their participation.
