They may not have scored a ton during the second half of the MLS Regular Season, but that doesn't mean the Vancouver Whitecaps didn't tally a few beauties in 2014, and thankfully, the league noticed. The Whitecaps have two nominees in the first field of 4 groups for Goal of the Year, and trust me, both of them are well deserved.
First, the rules. Goal of the Year is broken up into 16 groups of four, with the top two vote getters in each group moving on to round two. Sebastian Fernandez is the first Whitecap up, and he finds himself in a fight with Will Johnson, Luis Silva, and Justin Meram.
In Group D, Erik Hurtado and his wonder goal are pitted against Erick Torres, Dillion Serna, and Alvaro Saborio.
You can vote for both of the fellas right here.
Now, how about Save of the Year? Well, David Ousted certainly wasn't left out, as he did secure a nomination. Save of the Year is a little bit different, with the 32 'Save of the Week' winners placed in eight groups of four. Ousted finds himself in Group A, against Jon Busch, Jeff Attinella, and Clint Irwin.
