Whitecaps Meeting Expectations in 2014

The season was full of ups and downs but, in the end, the 2014 regular season has to be seen as a success.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

On February 25th, 10 days before the start of the regular season, Jon posed the question "What are your expectations for the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2014?".  215 people answered the poll. 60% (129) said that the Whitecaps would compete for a playoff spot while 13% (28) said they would lose everything.

The regular season has now come to an end, with the Whitecaps securing the 5th seed and a date with their rival FC Dallas on Wednesday evening. Yes, the season was not without its pitfalls (to be discussed at a later date), but, win or lose, this team has met the expectations put forth by its fans prior to the start of the season and need to be congratulated on those achievements.
