Kendall Waston's short stint with the Vancouver Whitecaps has continued to be an impressive one, as the rough and tumble Center Back was named to the MLS Team of the Week. Waston was credited for holding that potent Seattle attack scoreless in the 'Caps massive victory over the weekend.
Waston was brilliant to be sure, but to be honest, I really thought Matias Laba deserved a spot on the list this week. Laba was truly outstanding in the second half, absolutely shutting down the Sounders, and making life semi-easy for David Ousted. In any case, Waston certainly deserved some recoginition of his own, and it's good to see him get noticed. That being said, it only highlights how much the Whitecaps are going to miss him against the Earthquake this weekend, due to his suspension. The Whitecaps will no doubt look to the veteran Andy O'Brien to lead the way on the backline in his absence.
