TEAM 1040 has reported that the Vancouver Whitecaps have negotiated a new deal with team captain Jay DeMerit. Currently, no information is posted on the Caps' website, but the team has called a media conference scheduled for 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to announce the new deal.

UPDATE (12:20): The Whitecaps have now posted the news on their website.
