It's now been a month since the Vancouver Whitecaps announced they were sending out homegrown talent Caleb Clarke on a season-long loan to FC Augsburg II - the German Bundesliga side's U23 squad.
With four matches under the striker's belt so far, it's time to take an initial look at how he's done.
Augsburg's played five matches so far this season (2-1-2), with Clarke putting the full 90' in the past four of them. Thus far, the 20-year-old Richmond, B.C. native has posted three assists, and scored in his most recent match, a 4-0 victory over Heimstetten.
Playing on German soil isn't a wholly new experience for Clarke, as he went on a two-week trial to third-division Rot-Weiss Erfuhrt last year.
Before going out on loan, Clarke was a regular for the Whitecaps' Reserves side, and had seen action in the PDL, as well as for Canada's U20 national team. He also had two MLS appearances for the Caps.
