Matchday 26: WFC vs. Chivas USA
The 26th match of the Whitecaps' 2013 season takes place on Sunday, September 1st against Chivas USA. Fortunately for the 'Caps, they get a non-playoff team to play after a loss to the LA Galaxy. Unfortunately, Chivas USA isn't the team it was at the beginning of the season; just ask the New York Red Bulls. With the Western Conference playoff race tighter than my shoelaces - I tie my shoes really tight, is what I'm saying - can the 'Caps score a crucial win against the Rojiblancos?

Preview: Whitecaps Need a Win vs. Chivas USA
Considering how razor-thin the gaps are between teams in the Western Conference, I'm not saying this weekend's tilt against the suddenly resurgent Goats is a do-or-die match. Well, actually, I might be. Sure, positions can and will change from week to week. The problem is that those positions can be changed from "good" to "bad" and "bad" to "worse".
