For the third time in four weeks a Whitecap has been named as MLS Player of the week. Goalkeeper Brad Knighton's outstanding performance against Cascadia rival Seattle Sounders saw him make a career high seven saves and he also earned his first career assist when striker Darren Mattocks scored after racing onto a thundering goal kick from Knighton late in the match. Since June 29th Knighton has kept two clean sheets against Seattle and D.C. United and has allowed only one goal away to Sporting Kansas City. Knighton joins teammates Camilo Sanvezzo and Kenny Miller who were awarded the Player of the Week honors in Weeks 16 and 17 respectively.
