An important part of the Whitecaps roster has decided to hang his hat here for a little longer.
The club announced today that striker Kenny Miller has agreed to a six-month contract extension, that will run until June 2014.
Miller had been the target of frequent movement speculation, with some suggesting he would return to his old club, Rangers FC in Scotland the minute his contract with the Whitecaps was up, or perhaps even sooner. However, the 'Caps insisted that Miller was staying put, and that they would try and strike another deal with him.
In a press release from the Whitecaps, Miller said he was 'delighted' to sign the extension, and he thinks the 'Caps have a 'special group of players.'
This keeps the trio of Camilo, Kenny Miller and Russell Teibert together for the foreseeable future, but figures to leave Darren Mattocks and Kekuta Manneh on the bench, two players that will have to scrap and claw for playing time for a little while longer now.
However, Miller has been a constant threat to score, has scored some absolute beauties this season, and is very worthy of his new deal.
