• In their last meeting at BC Place the Whitecaps beat LA by a score of 3-1. Russell Teibert (with two goals on the night) and Darren Mattocks scored for the Caps. Gyasi Zardes had the lone goal for the Galaxy.
• The Whitecaps previous visit to the StubHub Center was a 2-1 loss in the club's first MLS playoff appearance. Darren Mattocks scored for Vancouver and Mike Magee (now with the Chicago Fire) and Landon Donovan scored for the Galaxy.
