Camilo named MLS player of the week

The small Brazilian was honored for his inspired play against Chivas USA

For the second straight week, the Vancouver Whitecaps are walking away with some hardware. After Kenny Miller won MLS player of the week seven days ago, Camilo has followed suit, rewarded for his two goal performance on Wednesday.

He also had an assist, and is currently playing the best football of his Whitecaps career. In his past 7 matches, Camilo has an impressive 6 goals, and his 8 regular season goals put him fourth in MLS in that category.

The last time Camilo won player of the week was in 2011, when he scored twice in stoppage time against Sporting Kansas City. That was the only time the 'Caps won it in 2011, and they didn't win it at all in the 2012 season. So for the 'Caps to claim an award for two straight weeks, that's kind of a big deal.

Congratulations to Camilo, and let's see if the club can go for the hat trick!
