Reports in the Norwegian press today suggest that representatives from Rosenborg BK have been in contact with the Vancouver Whitecaps multiple times this season, and as recently as last week, in an attempt to bring the Wee Brazilian to the Norwegian Tippeligaen for a reported transfer fee of 10 million Norwegian Krone (approx. $1.73M CAD).
In a statement released by the Whitecaps club president Bob Lenarduzzi said that "Camilo is under contract and we look forward to having him back in the new year" and that "we (Whitecaps FC) will listen if there is interest from another club."
Rosenborg BK have won 22 Norwegian league titles and their eight consecutive UEFA Champions League appearances (1995-2002) was a record until it was surpassed by Manchester United FC in 2004.
Camilo is the reigning 2013 MLS Golden Boot winner having scored 22 goals in 32 appearances for the Whitecaps this season.
