(Firstly, I apologize for not publishing my prediction ahead of the Chivas USA game. I was in Brazil for the World Cup and never got the time to do it.)
The Caps have fell off the horse, but look to get back on this Wednesday for a mid-week clash against Toronto. TFC are coming off a 4-2 comeback win over the struggling Houston Dynamo, while the Caps recently lost on home soil to a rolling Chivas side. Here is my Predicted Starting Line-Up:
Ousted, Adekugbe, Mitchell, Leveron, Beitashour, Laba, Koffie, Mezquida, Morales, Fernandez, Mattocks
3-2 for the Caps
Mezquida (4), Morales (18), Oduro (45), Moore (63), Manneh (87)
The Uruguayan Nicolas Mezquida opens up the scoring for Vancouver with a calm finish from a brilliant Mattocks lay-off. Pedro Morales puts the Caps up by 2 from the penalty spot, after Mattocks is brought down by keeper Joe Bendik. However, Toronto fights back first through a Dominic Oduro goal following a fast break, in which the Ghanian blasts a shot in to the roof of the net. Luke Moore then equalizes by stabbing in a rebound from a Jermain Defoe freekick. But the Whitecaps had the final say with Kekuta Manneh's cool finish after the Toronto backline pushes too far up the field for a corner kick.
Good Luck Caps!
