Despite a few nervy (and breathless) final minutes in Portland, the Whitecaps escaped with all 3 points. Next they head to Philadelphia to face the green-cold (opposite of red-hot?) Union. I am surprised to see the Union having such a tough season so far, since they have some real quality within their side. They have a strong middle of the field, and a solid defence as well. However, a clinical finisher is still needed for Philadelphia to make a surprise run for the playoffs.
I thought just before I head into my prediction, I would take a quick second to actually describe this section to any new readers to Eighty Six Forever. Since I never really explained this weekly piece I write, it may also be useful to you veteran bloggers. After I sum up the Caps upcoming match, I give my Predicted Line-Up, Predicted Score, and how I see the match playing out. Throughout all of this, a mix of cheesy jokes spice up my prediction. Anyways, just thought I would let everyone know! So, without any (Maurice) ado, here is my Predicted Starting-Lineup.
Ousted, Reo-C, Demerit, O'Brien, Harvey, Laba, Koffie, Teibert, Morales, Manneh, Hurtado
Predicted Score: 1-1
Nogueira (25), Hurtado (48)
The Frenchman, Vincent Nogueira, strikes a low shot across his body into the far corner, after a defensive scramble following a counter-attack. E-Money is able to continue his current form by rounding the keeper after a defence splitting ball by the Chilean, Pedro Morales.
Good Luck Caps!
