The Caps get a second chance to defeat the Galaxy after a surprisingly decent performance, in my eyes at least. Redemption is far from easy however, when your opponent is so star-studded as the Los Angeles Galaxy.
I was actually surprised with the negative responses on last Saturday's game. I'm the kind of person who is frightfully ecstatic after a win, but yet gloomily depressed after a loss. But last week left me somewhere in the middle for some reason. Yes, we got beat 1-0, but the team actually went out worked hard, created chances on the road and dominated spells of the match. Guys like Kekuta Manneh, Steven Beitashour, Jordan Harvey and ESPECIALLY Russel Teibert worked they're butts off for that game but unfortunately fly back up north empty-handed. Now, my Predicted Starting 11:
Ousted, Harvey, O'Brien, Demerit, Beitashour, Laba, Reo-Coker, Teibert, Morales, Miller, Mattocks
Sarvas (12), Morales (60), Teibert (80), Manneh (90)
Marcelo Sarvas puts the visitors on the board after Keane unselfishly fakes the shot to pass to the open Brazilian who fires in a close range shot. It took the Caps nearly 50 minutes to finally step-up their game, lead by Pedro Morales who bends in a ball from outside the box after a counterattack. Russel Teibert returns to haunt the Galaxy after he finishes the rebounded Gershon Koffie (substituted in) shot. To top it off, Kekuta Manneh slides in a cool finish to put the game away.
Good Luck Cap!
