The undefeated Caps host the undefeated Dynamo this saturday, and one can only expect a clash of giants. Two teams that have playoff and beyond aspirations will be hungry for another three points.
The Whitecaps look to be without box-to-box midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker after a duel with an overly-aggressive bike stand. However with the depth that the Caps have, one can only expect long-time Caps Gershon Koffie to slot in very well. Vancouver's coaching staff has praised Gershon for his work ethic and play in the past week's training sessions. Anticipate Canadian youngster Bryce Alderson to slip into the Caps 18 man roster and possibly his first minutes with the big boy's.
As for Houston, they look to bring their full roster up north. They have been one of the most consistent MLS sides since the leagues inaugural season. Their style of play consists of sturdy defence and goalkeeping and hitting you on the break. Players to look out for? Tally Hall is one of the best keepers in the league, thanks to his center backs as well as the fullback partnership of Corey Ashe and Kofi Sarkodie, who will likely burn the turf up with their lighting quick speed. As for the attack, Brad Davis and Boniek Garcia have formed a great partnership as the creative players, and Will Bruin uses his size to his advantage as we have seen with his 3 goals in 2 games. Without further ado, here is my Predicted Starting Lineup.
Ousted, Beitashour, Demerit, O'Brien, Harvey, Laba, Koffie, Fernandez, Morales, Teibert, Mattocks
2-1 for the Caps
Mattocks (19), Barnes (48), Morales (72)
Darren Mattocks bags his fourth goal against the Dynamo with a powerful header from a Russel Teibert cross. Giles Barnes ties up the match with rebound finish after a long range Brad Davis strike. However, Pedro Morales scores his second of the year after a 3 on 2 situation in favour of the Caps gives Morales room to strike the ball from just outside the box.
Good Luck Caps!
