Miller Finds the Mark Against England

Kenny Miller (R) celebrates his 49th minute goal against England with Norwich City's Robert Snodgrass - Clive Mason

Whitecaps striker scores in 'friendly' match at Wembley

LONDON, ENGLAND - Kenny Miller rewarded Scotland manager Gordon Strachan's faith in him by scoring a 49th minute goal in the international friendly against England at Wembley Stadium earlier today.  Despite a valiant effort, a late comeback gave England a 3-2 victory over their bitter rivals.  Miller's goal was the first goal scored in open play at Wembley by a Scottish-born player since John Wark in 1979.

Whitecaps fans will be happy to learn that Miller did not play the entire match and he was replaced by Leigh Griffiths in the 73rd minute.    Miller will now leave the Scottish camp and rejoin the Whitecaps in Denver for their Saturday match against the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.  The Whitecaps and Rapids are tied for second with 36 points in the MLS Western Conference, but the Caps have two games in hand on Colorado.
