In a post earlier this week, I proclaimed that the sky wasn't exactly falling here in Vancouver. While it might not qualify as Big Data, plotting out the course of the Vancouver Whitecaps' 2012 season and the early stages of the current 2013 campaign suggests that I may indeed have erred grievously.

The graph below shows Vancouver's regular season performance over the last 43 matches - the 2012 season plus the nine matches so far through 2013. I'm really starting to develop a dislike for trend lines, despite the fact that they highlight beautifully the general course of events over an extended period of time.

Looking at this, I'm inclined to think that Alain Vigneault might not be the only coach looking for work come this summer.
