Although it was a sad day last weekend, when the Whitecaps were taken down in Denver to a good Colorado side, I, and most fans, kept their chins up realizing it was a good season. In all honesty, I am excited to watch this match. Even though the "do or die" playoff contention game may have been more thrilling, a chance to see some of our lesser-seen players will be special and unique. Here's my Predicted Starting Line-Up
Cannon, Adekugbe, Mitchell, Demerit, Lee, Koffie, Reo-C, Hurtado, Teibert, Manneh, Camilo
BENCH: Thomas, Clement, Klazura, Abdallah, Watson, Mattocks, Heinemann
4-3 for the Caps (Your reading it right, don't pick up your glasses)
Powers (4), Teibert (20), Brown (62), Camilo (69), Mitchell (75), Mattocks (83), Buddle (90)
Dillon Powers starts off one of our most exciting matches ever, with a powerful shot from outside the box, which wasn't defended well enough. Young Russel Teibert equalized later, when he roofed a rebound that came off the post from Hurtado. Deshorn Brown continues to thorn (or a deshthorn?) in our sides when he headers in from a Dillon Powers cross. Camilo get's his goal that ties him with Marco Di Vaio for the MLS golden boot, when he rounds the keeper, after a brilliant through ball from Y.P. Lee. Carlyle Mitchell, the Caps unsung hero, head's in his first for the club after Camilo's free kick from far out. Darren Mattocks caps off the win with a brilliant curling ball from a tight angle. Edson Buddle get's a constellation after his close in shot goes post-and-in.
Thanks for the great season Caps!
