All That Glitters
Another bad day at the office for the Whitecaps then. I haven't felt this disappointed since I found out that the "tripadvisor" website reviewed hotels and not high grade narcotics.
Anyway, on to this week's poll which, just to give us all a break from months of unrelenting misery ignores the Whitecaps and takes a look forward to the upcoming Gold Cup tournament (which will probably just be weeks of unrelenting misery instead).
What does the Gold Cup mean to you? Is it a fascinating opportunity to see how the Canadian team is progressing in it's bid to qualify for (and ultimately win) the 2014 World Cup, or are you as interested in the tournament as Camilo is in defending?
The answers below cover the full gamut of emotions ( "gamut" by the way is a contraction of gamma ut, equivalent to gamma, used to represent the first or lowest tone (G) in the medieval musical scale).
Yeah, suck on that Sounders fans! Your team may have way more points than ours but we can still kick your asses at the etymology of late Middle English/Medieval Latin words!
Last weeks's poll was a complete blowout with nearly 60% of responders not wanting to lose parity from the MLS (thank God the 'Caps have parity!) and "maverick owners" coming in second (thank God the 'Caps don't have maverick owners!).
Now just tell the world what you think about the Gold Cup..

Watch the Women
You sound a little desperate there Ben. If you want to she a Canadian team win watch our women play. The sport doesn’t even matter that much, our women are good a most of ’em. Even the Whitecaps team is kicking ass!

I actually do watch the women’s national team and give them coverage in these parts from time to time. It’s pretty good soccer at the international level these days.

I lied
I chose the “schedule my life around it” option. which is what i would have liked to do. Instead I’ve got a cousin getting married, so will be in Europe for two weeks missing almost all of it.
Horrible timing, too late to catch any league football, and just too early to be able to catch any women’s world cup games, but just right so that I miss most of the Gold Cup. booo.

I’m sure the bride would completely understand your dissatisfaction.
p.s. Has your opinion of Dunfield improved since he scored for Canada?

If my recent experience is anything to go by you will be wide awake when the Gold Cup games are on anyway. They’re free on the CONCACAF website, so no real excuse for not watching :)

I’ve been told that that’s only in North America, but since I don’t plan on leaving North America any time soon, I can’t really test it … and I might be totally wrong.

It is only in North, Central, and apparently South America.
