The Revolution Starts Here
The MLS Players Union defies their management every season by publishing the details of player salaries. This is great because it not only gives us, the fans, the chance to evaluate how wisely our team is spending their cash it also allows us to scream 'They are paying him how much!!" at regular intervals.
Today though is not a day for negativity. Today is the day that we call our comrades in arms to the barricades to demand better pay for some of Vancouver's downtrodden, yet stalwart, performers.
The revolution may not be televised but it will almost certainly be tweeted in the form of a poll, so put down that Molotov cocktail and stick it to "the man" by voting for one of the selected five players below that you think most deserves to pay more tax.
The full MLS list can be found here. But proceed with caution (for it is a PDF).
Last weeks poll again featured a few anarchists who wanted "None of the above" as an option, but the tactical shape most favoured was 4-4-2, with 4-3-1-2 coming a close second. There was no shame attached to 4-4-1, but 4-3-3 and 5-3-2 really need to take a good long look at themselves in the mirror.
Vote below. Annual salary given after each player.

I was tempted to vote for Teibert on puckishly practical grounds: he’s Generation Adidas, so we could pay him Hassli money and it wouldn’t count against the salary cap. But then I figured that an 18-year-old making those kinds of clams might wind up wrapping a Ferrari around a telephone poll and voted for Dunfield.
I’m willing to bet Jay Nolly’s quoted salary that Nolly will not win this vote.

Nolly probably won’t win, but where would Cannon come in at $199,500 per year?

And thats why coach tt and vancouver management are complete idiots
and will remain at the bottom of the table
I think yer trollin’ son, but to be fair, Nolly has had a good run of form and Cannon was on again off again injured. Cannon played well in his one start, with a save of the week quality stop, but so far he’s not needed. Nor do I think he’d be an upgrade on Nolly, but it must be nice for TT to have Cannon on Nolly’s heels to keep him alert. He has to compete for that position every game, and he’s doing well.

Voting for Dunfield or Teibert was tempting, but I’m saying Salinas. At $44k he must be one of the lower paid players and once he is healthy he’s going to be a big part of the team.
Give you one guess who deserves less money after our last game.

How can you guys overlook what Jonathon Leathers has done on defense so far this season? The guy pretty much single-handedly kept Chicago off the scoresheet this past Saturday, and has actually contributed on the offensive side of things by pushing forward at times.
Terry’s done quite a bit, even scoring a couple times, but at least he’s cracked $50,000 – Leathers is sitting at a mediocre $42,000. That’s Nana Attakora underpaid territory…
Leathers has been up and down. He got us a point last game, but he lost us a point against the Crew. As starter on the back line he should get more though.

Echoing Canadian Steel. It’s the obvious place for an upgrade in our squad. Leathers is good when he’s good, and bad when he’s bad, and that inconsistency has cost us points. A solid starting right back would knock Leathers out of the starting XI quickly.
